Ash Wednesday

A service at noon in the Canterbury Chapel when we receive ashes on the forehead in the sign of a cross to “Remember that you are dust and unto dust you shall return.” The ashes are from the burning of the previous year’s palm branches. Lent lasts 40 days and 40 nights, not including Sundays, because Sunday is always a Feast (not Fast) day. This brief but deeply meaningful service will last 15-20 minutes.
